A little bit about myself.  I am married to David who is also a teacher and we have four wonderful children and six even more wonderful grandchildren. David and I were born and educated in Zimbabwe. We taught together in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana before moving to New Zealand 21 years ago. We have been teaching happily in New Zealand ever since. During my time here I have taught at Pinehurst and then Birkdale North. While at Birkdale I completed a degree and had the opportunity to train as a reading recovery teacher.

I believe children learn best when they are having fun and feeling good about themselves. Walt Disney once said, “To a child every moment can be magic.”  I enjoy trying to create magical moments for children to learn through and feel privileged to watch them grow and explore all opportunities. To me the quote should say, “Every moment spent with a child is magic”. Learning through play is a big part of my daily timetable and at times I feel I learn more from your children than they learn from me!

Hi,  I am married to Carl and we live in Red Beach.  We have two sons and a daughter all living at home. As a family, we love fishing and four wheel driving.
I have been teaching for over ten years and have taught all age groups. I was lucky enough to start at Waitoki School in 2018, releasing Lynda for her DP day once a week. I am even luckier this year to be part of the Waitoki family, teaching in Ruma Tuatahi alongside Lynda.  We compliment each others passions and strengths. I love Visual Arts, Reading and Maths.
The new entrant children are so eager to learn. They soak up new knowledge so quickly and that’s what I love about them.
I enjoy watching and helping children learn social skills through play and being able to capture those special teachable moments.
