Chelsea Brown

This is my third year teaching at Waitoki School and already I feel like part of the family. Prior to joining the team at Waitoki I studied a Bachelor of Education (Primary Specialisation) at the University of Auckland and then worked at Lincoln Heights School in Massey once I completed my degree.  I have recently completed a 32 week part time postgrad certificate in Applied Practice (Digital and Collaborative Learning) at Mind Lab by Unitec.

I enjoy teaching all aspects of the curriculum and have a particular interest in Literacy, ICT and PE and Health. I am currently our sports coordinator at Waitoki School and enjoy seeing our students push the limits in the Kaipara sporting events, being the ‘best they can be!’ I am passionate about discovery learning as it allows students to unlock and utilise their natural curiosity through problem solving and drawing on prior knowledge and experiences. When I’m not at school I enjoy spending quality time with my whanau and supporting my three children (Paris – 15, Levi and Ice – 12) in their hobbies of dancing, league, basketball, tag and touch.
