Many thanks for your support with costume items for our upcoming production Project Planet. We still require a few specific costume items and props. 

If you have any of the items listed below that we could borrow we would be incredibly grateful. Please make sure any items are clearly labeled with your child’s name so we can return them safely after the final curtain if you would like them back.

Things that we need:

7 Flannel / old long sleeve shirts 
a size XS red polo shirt 
6 old wide brimmed hat (Straw or otherwise)
Plain blank bright coloured shirt x13 - Size 8
3 x gumboots size UK 7-8 (one pair will get painted) doesn't matter if they're old.
1 kids large swanndri or small adult swanndri.
1 clean baking apron

Kia Ora Waitoki Families,

Get ready for a bigger summer of Touch at Silverdale Rugby!

If your kids are keen to play touch this year, please fill in the Skool Loop form as soon as possible. It would be awesome if we could make up some Waitoki teams for this!

Silverdale Junior Touch details:

Season Dates

2026: 14th October – 16th December (10 Wednesday nights)
2027: 3rd February – 24th February (4 Wednesday nights)

All games played at Silverdale Rugby

Team Entry: $500 per team (this will be split depending on how many players in a team we register)

 

If we can’t make-up full teams, Silverdale Rugby can create teams from individual registrations for players who don't already have a team.

 

If we can please ask you return this form by 31st August, to ensure we get a spot in the competition as there are only 85 team spaces available.

On Friday 28th August we will once again be supporting the ANZ Daffodil Day to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. 
Please can all the children come to school dressed in yellow and bring a gold coin donation. Our school leaders are in the process of organising some fun activities at morning tea and lunchtime, including face painting.

The Out of Zone application process for 2027 is now open.

We are welcoming all out of zone applications to be received by Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 3pm      ( as per the MOE enrolment scheme requirements ).

The Waitoki School board has determined that 50 places are likely to be available for Out-of-Zone students in 2027. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.

If the number of Out-of-Zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot is required, it will be held on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held. We have had a large interest in Out-of-Zone applications for 2027, and may need to go to ballot. If no ballot is required an offer of place will be issued and this needs to be accepted within two weeks.

I have attached a copy of the Out-of-Zone application form, which is also available on our website, and in the school office. Please either email the form to this email address, or bring it into the office.  

Please Note: If you have already submitted an application form, there is no need to do this again.

CAN YOUR FAMILY OR BUSINESS HELP?

We’re looking for big-ticket prizes for the Waitoki School Country Fair raffle!

If your family or business could donate a prize, we would love to hear from you. We’re looking for exciting prizes such as:

·   2-night hotel or holiday stay

·  TV, iPad, tablet or headphones

·  Coffee machine or Tools etc 

·  Family experience or activity

·  Vouchers or other premium prizes

Have old Airpoints, Hotpoints or other loyalty points or vouchers sitting unused? This is a great way to put them to good use while supporting our school!

We’re hoping to raise $5,000 from this raffle to help fund our play spaces, STEM/robotics programme and outdoor sound equipment.
