This year our Jolly Jar stall will be back in action at the Country Fair. These awesome jars are often super popular and there is so much variety to choose from.

If you would like to, we would love to have some amazing jolly jars created and filled, and returned after the holidays ready for sale at the Country Fair (Saturday 31st October 2026)

This is would be a great holiday activity for the kids to do!

 

If you are thinking "What is a Jolly Jar?" ...

Jolly Jars are a jar filled with something small, fun or interesting. Kids love making them and choosing what to put inside and you can decorate the jars to make them more eye-catching if you choose. These don’t have to cost a lot of money and there are endless ideas to make up the jars but suggestions include - Hair clips, Mcdonald’s toys, LEGO, miniatures, sweets, chocolate, water balloons, marbles, crayons or pencils, loom bracelets, kids craft bits and bobs, matchbox cars, accessories, stickers, play jewellery.

The Jolly Jars are then for sale on the day of our Country Fair.

Just letting you know the fencing project is almost complete. Yay! The contractors are hoping to move the skip and the container on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th September. Please can you avoid parking in the staff carpark on these two days to prevent your car from being damaged. Thank you for your understanding. 
I hope you all enjoy the school holidays with your children and I look forward to welcoming you back to Waitoki on Monday 12th October.

Important Raffle Update: Extra Tickets Available!

We have officially sold out of our first round of raffle tickets! Thank you so much to everyone for your incredible support and enthusiasm.

Due to high demand, we have ordered another 500 tickets. These will be available for collection from the school office starting Monday, 12 October.

If you would like to request more tickets, please reply to this message indicating how many books of 10 you would like.

If you are not planning on selling your tickets please can you return them to the school office.

NITS / HEAD LICE

Dear Parent/Caregiver,

We have been notified of a case of head lice in your child’s class and would be grateful if you could check your child’s hair and treat them if necessary.

Head lice can be a persistent problem and cause considerable frustration. To successfully manage and prevent the spread of head lice, it is important that all families remain vigilant and check regularly.

Please check your child’s hair TODAY.
Check your child’s hair carefully for head lice and nits (eggs).
Continue checking every 2 days until no head lice have been found for 10 consecutive days.
If you find head lice, please begin an effective treatment immediately and ensure you complete the full treatment process according to the instructions.
Treatments are available from your local chemist/pharmacy. Please follow the product instructions carefully.
Regular checking and early treatment are important in preventing head lice from spreading.
If your child has long hair, keeping it tied up while around others can help reduce the risk of spreading head lice.
Most importantly, please continue to check your child and family members regularly, even after treatment, to help prevent reinfestation.
