Hi, I’m Mrs Porter
I’m really excited to be joining the Waitoki School team in Term 3 in 2023.
On my first day as a reliever, I was warmly welcomed by both the staff and students and loved the friendly and caring feel as well as the amazing rural setting of the school.
I am an experienced teacher, beginning my journey in 2006 at Long Bay Primary and have enjoyed teaching all Year levels across Primary School.
In the classroom I enjoy getting to know each child and finding their unique superpower. I believe by fostering positive relationships with the students as well as providing creative and fun experiences, our tamariki will thrive with their learning and make memorable moments of their time at school.
When I’m not at work, I am busy with my husband and two children aged 9 and 6. We are often at the beach or out on the water fishing, on the ski biscuit or finding the perfect spot to explore or have a picnic. I also enjoy biking, watching movies, baking and creating photo books.
