Mark Van Dam
Once graduating from Auckland Teachers College in 1990, I began my teaching career at Dairy Flat School. Over the years I have worked at a variety of local schools, most recently spending 6 years at Coatesville School.
2023 is my first full year at Waitoki School and I am looking forward to getting to know our whanau of children and parents.
In 2014 I upgraded my Teaching Diploma to the Bachelor of Education through Massey University. My curriculum interests include Writing, Maths, PE, Art and EOTC. I am an advocate of life-long learning and overcoming fixed mindsets. I believe that everyone has the potential to achieve, but the ‘achievement’ may look different due to our unique learning styles.
My wife Saskia, and I are currently enjoying that phase of having independent adult children, so we spend our leisure time sailing, gardening and whatever else catches our attention.
